HowTo: Find your api key
-
To use stats you will need to provide your api key. Here's how to find it:
- Sign in at http://wordpress.com
- Select 'My Account'
- Click the 'API Key and other Personal Settings' link
- You will see the API Key displayed, go to your blog settings in the app and enter this key
Once that is complete, go to the stats view and load a report of your choosing!

Has something been changed? I can't find mine, just a link to Akismet where it appears I have to pay?

The easiest way to find your key is to visit https://apikey.wordpress.com/.
You will see your username and your API Key, which is a string of 12 letters and numbers. Note that you have to be logged in to WordPress.com.
Take a look at the documentation page here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/api-keys/

@suharsya -- are you using WordPress.com or self-hosted WordPress?
which role do you have in that blog, are you and administrator? -
Hi
I have a self-hosted site and needed an API key to add plugins. I found out I needed a wp.com account, which I did, creating a "dummy" blog in the process, just to get that key, which I now have. If I delete this dummy blog do I retain this key? Seems overly complicated, really. Thanks for your help!
